CFOs of the Year help companies thrive

Though their job descriptions vary, the common thread that connects the 2017 CFO of the Year honorees is a commitment to excellence.

This year’s 15 honorees — chosen from a highly qualified pool of applicants — manage finances for cities, nonprofits, small businesses and public corporations. In total, this group oversees hundreds of millions of dollars and thousands of employees. And they don’t just control the purse strings of the organization — for some, the job also includes strategy, HR functions, IT, SEC reporting, and mergers and acquisitions.

These top executives keep their organizations thriving. Astute readers will notice that several honorees work for current and past Champions of Business: Murphy Hoffman, NIC, EPR Properties, KBP Foods, Dimensional Innovations and Burns & McDonnell. That’s no coincidence.

A panel of independent judges chose this year’s honorees based on their role within the company as well as the community. CFOs of the Year will be honored at a luncheon June 30 at the InterContinental Kansas City. Register here.
